I'm writing this blog the night before I normally publish one. My work day will be short tomorrow due to an appointment and I don't want to miss my ministry opportunity. If you haven't noticed, I try to publish a blog/devotional every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. I will continue to do so as long as God provides the time and words for me to continue with this schedule and ministry.
Today, I'm a bit more down than usual. I have major depressive disorder and with the 'stay at home' orders due to the COVD-19 virus, it's starting to impact my mood. This is when it's really hard for me because I become scared. Scared of myself and not knowing if I can be as strong in the Lord as I want to be. I don't know if I can keep my promise to Him that I will always call out His name no matter how far into the darkness I may fall. Fortunately, He has kept me from the darkness now for well over two years. I have trust in Jesus but I don't trust myself. God has been faithful but I have not.
I'm doing what I usually do when I don't know what else to do. I'm calling out His name three times softly like a song I have heard. It's amazing how that short little song and saying Jesus' name three times fills me with hope, peace and joy again. As I'm writing this, I feel the Holy Spirit inside of me calming me and assuring me that I am OK and I will be OK.
There's a song that says Jesus 3 times and while searching for the song, "There's Something About That Name", I ran across another song which I really like. This song is entitled 'The Name of Jesus'. Today I want to share both songs with you and hope one or both of them bring a blessing to you.
No matter what you may be facing and even if you can't audible speak Jesus' name, silently in your mind say His name 3 times slowly and trust Him to work in you and your life. He will and it's awesome experience to feel Christ draw closer to you. I know because I'm experiencing Him now!
Lyrics:
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; there's just something about that name.
Master, Savior, Jesus, like the fragrance after the rain;
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all Heaven and earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,
But there's something about that name.
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,
But there's something about that name.
Lyrics:
Verse 1
There are days I feel the enemy surround me
And if I'd breathe he would come and devour me
But then I speak the name, oh I speak the name
Yes, I speak His name, such a wonderful name
Chorus
Jesus there's something 'bout the name of Jesus
There's healing in the name of Jesus
There's peace in the name of Jesus, Oh
Jesus there's something 'bout the name of Jesus
There's healing in the name of Jesus
There's peace in the name of Jesus
Verse 2
He made the lame to walk, He made the dumb to talk
Caused the blind to see, He made a way for me
When I was down and out in deep despair
My Savior came and He found me there
He brought me out, there is no doubt
Bridge
When I am all alone
I'm glad I have a friend I can always depend on
His name is Jesus, His name is Jesus
Ev'ry time I'm down and out
There's something inside of me that rises up
And gives me a shout it's Jesus, Oh it's Jesus
Somebody say His name
