Someone Is Watching

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:8-10)

In a world that is getting more chaotic every day, people are now asking for peace and unity. I find it disheartening that most people are looking to themselves or other people to provide what they seek. After all, who created the chaos? In my opinion, it's humans turning to each other or things of the world. It would be better if we all turned to our Creator for all of our needs and desires. The saddest part is that Christians rely on politicians to fulfill their wants and desires.

People, including Christians, are expecting other people to provide stability. It's the people that are the one's discontent and angry. How can unity come from those who don't know what peace, contentment, and harmony are? If political leaders cannot work together, they will not bring the world together either. They are not loving or respecting each other as fellow human beings. They desire power and control, not harmony.

There is only one place to find unconditional love, which in turn provides peace, contentment, and harmony. This place is in the loving arms of Jesus Christ.

Instead of sharing God's love, Christians have joined the world by taking sides and arguing among the world and with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Where is the love of Christ in the family of God? I mourn for the family of God. I'm praying for my brothers and sisters to turn to each other and God, not the world.

We are all servants of God, and He expects us to work and live together side by side in unity, no matter what our status is in church or the world. Why would the unsaved of this world want or believe there is peace with God if his children are unable to live and work together in harmony? How can congregations live in unity if their leaders aren't examples? If members of a church quarrel or if leaders in the church do the same, how are we different from the world? Consider how God's children were arguing and showing more hate toward each other over politicians they think can provide for them in this last election. It's not humans who can give anything; only God can fulfill every need we have.

This world doesn't comprehend true love and unity because they do not experience it among God's children. We are not just God's children, but we are also disciples. As disciples, we believe in Jesus and seek to follow him in his or her daily life. Discipleship doesn't mean saying you believe in God and then choosing to live in a way contrary to His Word (the Bible).

The only hope we have is in Jesus Christ. We won't find hope in each other. I urge you to take your eyes off man and the things of this world. Christians, let's start sharing the hope and love of God instead of arguing with our brothers and sisters in Christ. If you don't know Christ, I am asking you to look to the son of God, Jesus Christ, and accept him into your life. Please surrender your life entirely to him and strive to live as Christ did and does. There is real peace found in Christ, but only if you submit your all to Him. You can't have Jesus and the world too. This world is temporary, but God is eternal.

More laws against Christians and God are coming. We need to unite as the family of God. Churches need to start overlooking denominations and come together in their community for the cause of Christ. Remember, only one God and one family of God exists.

I am by no means a perfect child of God. I am writing this for myself as much as others. I am praying for God to make less of me and more of Him and to love others through me. I desire the fellowship and discipleship of other Christians. As the Bible states, 'iron sharpens iron.' I don't want to lose my family of God to the world. The more we work together and learn together how to live for Christ, the more we love each other, which shows the world that peace and contentment are available with Christ. The world will want what we have, which is Jesus. It breaks my heart that it seems more and more Christians are too much like the world that it's no wonder less and less are turning to Christ.

None of us will ever be perfect, but we should strive to be Christlike, bringing us closer to perfection in Christ, which can only improve the world we live in, not destroy it. Our actions as Christians impact the world. We can either contribute to the immorality and hate or increase the amount of love in our world. When the world sees you, who do they see the most? Do they see you, the world, or Christ? Someone who needs Christ is watching you, whether you know it or not. Does your life reflect the love of God?
