Positivism or God?

Due to having clinical depression and anxiety disorder, I have had my share of counseling. Both secular and the last two (Thank you Lord) have been Christian counselors. I have heard the terms positive and negative thoughts, positive and negative energy, positive and negative this and that. I’ve heard it so much I cringe when I hear those 2 words. Granted, there is a time to use them. For example, a battery has positive and negative ends. That’s just one example. The terms however, to me are being overused and misused by the therapists, motivational speakers and atheists. My observation, it’s a way to eliminate God.

The truth is there is no positive without God. James 1:17 talks about how every good and perfect gift is from above, coming from the Father of Lights (i.e. God). To me this means, what people consider as positive thoughts are Godly thoughts sent from above. However, instead of God getting the credit it is deemed as ‘positive’. Positivism is now becoming a God. People are dwelling more on what is positive in their own way than what is Godly. Just remember, positivism can change based on the culture, God never changes. Positivism is a perception not reality. God is real.

The challenge to myself now is that I’m going to think before I use the word positive to see if there’s a way, I can change my thought or even my spoken words to be about God. (i.e. instead of saying “I’m feeling positive”, I’ll say “I’m feeling very blessed today”. Instead of saying “What an awesome positive perspective”. I’ll say, “What an awesome Godly perspective”. As in truth, it is since all good things come from God not us or others.

Just my little thought for the day, may God bless you all 😊.
