Mold Me
But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand. (Isaiah 64:8)
Many of my prayers are asking God to help me be who he created me to be. I believe God wants us to surrender to him in this way so He can mold and shape us into the person He originally formed us to be.
Sometimes I think we get consumed with the world and the worries that come along with it. We tend to focus on the trial and halt God's molding process. As we go through tribulations, we are to look to God and allow him to keep his hand upon us. He will smooth out the wrinkle in our life at the appropriate time, or he may leave it, as it is part of who He is creating us to be. This crease in the 'clay' possibly is what makes us stronger and builds Christian integrity.
Here is a prayer/poem about asking God to help us to stay on the path He has created for us, allowing us to become the creation He intends.
LORD, HELP ME (Donna M. Maroney)
Lord, help me to
Live my life for Thee.
Help me to walk the path
That You have laid for me.
Help me to see the need
That You see every day.
And teach me to reach out
To those along the way.
Take my mind out of the world
And let my focus be
Ever striving daily to be
What You want me to be
