Joyful Uncertainty
I'm in awe of the peace and joy within a time of uncertainty for my husband and me. God is with me, and I can feel that. I searched for Bible verses about uncertainty and found a site with 100 verses. I've been reading through them, and this one speaks to me the most today.
The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him. (Nahum 1:7)
Faced with an unknown financial future, Christ is my stronghold. I like the part of the verse that states, 'he knows those.' This verse is conveying that God knows 'me.' God knows what I want but, most importantly, what I need.
"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." (James 1:2-4)
God's word has promised that his followers will lack for nothing. God is providing strength during a time I thought I would be weak. I am laughing and at peace more than I am crying and anxious. I do believe God expects we will be troubled at times as there are many verses in the Bible to remind us that He understands. He is there and to cast our anxieties onto Him. God is there to help us through everything.
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.(1 Peter 5:6-7)
If you don't know Christ as your savior and don't have hope for tomorrow, I encourage you to turn to God and His Word (the Bible). If you seek, you will find Him. He will be with you and guide you through whatever you are facing. You have to be the one to turn to him and accept his gift of salvation. Only those that know Christ will hear his voice and follow him. The peace comes to those that know him.
